Hungarian writing in translation - come and discover the world of Hungarian literature without having to brave the language! Too many treasures of Hungarian writing remain unknown in the world due to the language barrier. Fortunately there are many excellent translators who try to remedy this loss by translating Hungarian works of literature into English.
We make sure we stock the best translations, many of which were done by people who are writers of poets themselves. We particularly recommend the translations by writers who live in the UK as their usage will sound closest to the native English ear. Peter Zollman, György Gömöri, György Szirtes, John Bátky and Judith Sollosy are prime examples of this, although our range of publications spans many countries and continents.
